Last December, I bought this wireless router of CD-R King model LP-8186. It really gave me a headache in activating it and it took me two two days to solve the mystery behind in setting it up. Then another problem naman is how to encrypt my wifi. I did research how to set it but I can't find answers to solve my problem on securing it. (up to now) :((

I think I'll try to visit the CD-R King website and tried to talk to their techinical support there.

My problem just got solved coz I followed this guide. Thanks to Website Maker.

1. Open your Internet Explorer, Firefox, or any available internet browser. Type in 192.168.1.254 in your url browser. Don't forget the “http://“. This will bring you to your router's WLAN page setup embedded in your router's program.

2. Please change the wireless network name ex. owners name, then apply changes. Click “Apply Changes” button and wait again for 15 seconds for the router to restart and initialize.

3. WLAN ACCESS POINT. select the encription supported ex. WPA. passphrase, fill in the key values. ex delacruz123 this is ur network key or password in wifi connection. Then apply changes.

4. Note: you can choose whatever type of Encryption you want to use. In this sample WPA was used. You can fill any word (letters and Numbers) that you want with this field, Just Remember the word you filled in this field, because this will serve as the password for your wireless connection

5. Next click on the TCP/IP Setting then LAN Interface and change the IP Address and DHCP Client Range then click “Apply Changes” button and wait again for 15 seconds for the router to restart and initialize.

6. Change the default ip address to 192.168.10.254 (please note the highlighted number difference compared to the first IP address 192.168.1.254)

7. Also change the DHCP client range to 192.168.10.1 to 192.168.10.253, apply changes

8. On the browser’s URL or Address bar, type the IP address of the router which is 192.168.10.254, and then press the “enter key”. Please note this step because this is what I missed that is why I was not able to activate it the first time.

9. Now click on the Management and click on “Status”, to check if your WAN Configuration has an IP address and that you are already connected to the internet.

Netbooks: The Down Side

It cannot be denied that mini notebooks such as Asus Eee and HP 2133 have already gained a market. These notebooks can definitely do the basic works of a laptop. But what are the down side of these mini notebooks?

1. Currently (because there might be a change in the future), mini notebooks have a smaller storage capacity. Asus Eee, when it first came out the market was very attractive, yet when I tried to check its hard drive, it is only 4 G. And what software can you install with 4G now?

2. Most of them don't have a CD/DVD drive. This is a downside especially if you are a movie watcher. Currently, a flash drive with 8G is still a little expensive. Furthermore, you will have to put all your software in your CD or DVD in your flash drive first before you will be able to install your favorite software into these mini notebooks. And for all you know, CD/DVD is not yet out in the market. And even if it will, Blue Ray is still their close relative.

3. Most Mini Notebooks have a smaller RAM. This caused me to think more if I really need a mini notebook or not. We all know that in a computer, there are generally 3 things that we have to see in the specification to know whether or not, our PC is fast; the processor, RAM, and the video card. Either one of those is slow, it will greatly affect the speed of your PC/laptops.

4. Most of them are more expensive when it comes to "cost-benefit" analysis. I would say that if I have to choose a laptop that cost $300 vs. a mini notebook that cost $200, I will still choose the $300 especially if their specs differences are far apart.

5. Most of them have more limited capabilities. I used to think before that Mini Notebooks can do whatever the regular laptops can. But as of now, I am convinced that it still cannot outdo the regular laptops in its capabilities. If we are only going to consider these downside and we really value our money, regular laptops can definitely trash mini notebooks out.

In the end, as buyers we are still the one to decide. If you are always on the move and you doesn't have to consider the downsides that I have mentioned, then feel free to have one. I can say that they are still cool gadgets. It's just I want to value my money especially in times of crisis.

But, there is no doubt that mini laptops manufacturers can make their products more attractive in the future by improving the RAM, hard drive, and its other features in lower prices. Then, I should have no reason why not buy netbooks.

Mahal ni Sonia si Greg, isang binata sa kabilang ibayo ng ilog. Gustong tumawid ni Sonia para makapiling si Greg, kaso puno ng bwaya ang ilog at sira ang tulay. Kaya nakiusap siya kay Jose, isang mamamangka, na itawid siya ng ilog. Nag-low-cut na blouse at mini skirt siya para maging maganda sa paningin ni Greg. Pumayag si Jose, pero natakot si Sonia sa kahina-hinalang ngiti ni Jose. Sinalaysay ni Sonia kay Bong, kaibigan niya, ang kanyang suliranin. Ngunit ayaw madamay ni Bong sa kalagayan ni Sonia. Sa akalang wala nang ibang paraan, sumakay si Sonia sa bangka, kahit hindi siya nagtitiwala
kay Jose.
Sa kalagitnaan ng ilog, sinabi ni Jose na hindi na niya kayang pigilin ang kanyang sarili at gusto niyang sipingan si Sonia. Nang tumango si Sonia, binantaan siya na itatapon sa ilog.Pero kung pumayag si Sonia, nangako si Jose na itatawid siya ng ilog nang ligtas. Sawi sa pag-ibig at nagdadalamhati. nagpasaklolo si Sonia kay Lito, isang mahusay na karatista. Hinanap niya si Greg at binugbog ng todo. Masaya si Sonia ng makitang tinamasa ni Greg ang nararapat sa kanya. Lumubog ang araw na tinatawanan ni Sonia si Greg.

The Curious Case of Benjamin Button

The synopsis for The Curious Case of Benjamin Button reads something like this: “I was born under unusual circumstances. And so begins The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, adapted from the 1920s story by F. Scott Fitzgerald about a man who is born in his eighties and ages backwards: a man, like any of us, who is unable to stop time. We follow his story, set in New Orleans from the end of World War I in 1918, into the 21st century, following his journey that is as unusual as any mans life can be. Directed by David Fincher and starring Brad Pitt and Cate Blanchett with Taraji P. Henson, Tilda Swinton, Jason Flemyng, Elias Koteas and Julia Ormond, Benjamin Button, is a grand tale of a not-so-ordinary man and the people and places he discovers along the way, the loves he finds, the joys of life and the sadness of death, and what lasts beyond time.”

I was never curious about this movie. I said, boy, that's one long movie title! I got bored one night, went to the mall with my husband and thought, hey, let's watch this Benjamin Button. I had an idea that he was born odd. But that's just it.

So there we were, for three long hours, we sat and curiously watched it. It felt like I was watching Forrest Gump but the story was different. It was darker and sadder. But yeah, there were happy moments,too. As what the line of the story goes --Life is not measured in minutes but by moments (or something like that).

In technical aspect, it was superb. You know that CGs and heavy makeup were used but you barely notice the transition. For the lack of better term, it was just Uaaahmazing. The actors did their part very well, too. I love that Mama Queenie character. Makes me feel she was my mum.

I'm a sucker for good dialogue/script. This movie has it. And to point some:
Your life is defined by its opportunities... even the ones you miss.

For what it's worth: it's never too late or, in my case, too early to be whoever you want to be. There's no time limit, stop whenever you want. You can change or stay the same, there are no rules to this thing. We can make the best or the worst of it. I hope you make the best of it. And I hope you see things that startle you. I hope you feel things you never felt before. I hope you meet people with a different point of view. I hope you live a life you're proud of. If you find that you're not, I hope you have the strength to start all over again.

We're meant to lose the people we love. How else would we know how important they are to us?

You can be as mad as a mad dog at the way things went. You could wear, curse the fates, but when it comes to the end, you have to let go.

So yeah, that sums it up.

I say whoever hates this movie probably had a real bad childhood and can't appreciate good things.
